Is it possible for me to get into an Ivy?

Hi, I’m currently a junior at a fairly competitive high school. My unweighted GPA is 3.9 and my weighted is 4.4, I’m in 3 AP classes and the rest honors. For extra curricular, I’m a 3 year varsity athlete in xc and track, and will be captain next year. I’m also in french club, ambassador club, and am planning to go to the DR for a service learning trip next month. My PSAT scores are kind of low (205) and so are my PLAN scores (27) but I took both of those with zero prep. I scored a 720 on my bio subject test and a 750 on the chem one, and got a 5 on my AP chem test. Sorry for that paragraph, but do you’d think I could realistically get into an ivy league? Thanks!

Well, we’d need SAT or ACT scores to really be able to gauge your ‘chances’ (keep in mind we can’t say for sure, as the college admission process is so different for everyone). But your GPA looks alright, and your EC’s might be a bit lacking. Remember, irregardless of your stats, IVIES are a crap shoot.

Good luck! When you get your SAT/ACT scores, I can come back and help you more. I’d suggest finding solid recs and spending months on your essays, both writing and editing. It might be a good idea to have a tutor or take a prep coarse for either the SAT or the ACT.
