Is it possible someone can be so stupid...

I have never been able to understand math. I never liked it. In high school, I never made it passed algebra. And now I'm going into my second year of college, and I'm still not passed a high school level. I'm still taking pre college prerequisite classes.
I took the same math class 3 times, all three times not passing them. The first time I took it, I got a D+, the second time I took it, I withdrew it because I failed the first 2 tests, and I just took the class for a third time as a summer session class, and I doubt I passed it.
Can I really be that stupid to not understand math at all? I just can't seem to get it, and I'm not even at a college level math yet.

Some people just aren’t math people…I am not to good at history but I wouldn’t say I’m stupid when it comes to history. I would say to look back at previous math classes and try to do some stuff with that, math builds on itself so that might be part of the problem.

Does your college have a tutoring center? If so, you should go check it out and try to get assistance with math.

Have you been tested to see if you have a legitimate math disability?

Before we jump to disabilities, how are you at everything else? Is it just math? Are you putting in the time you should? Are there any other outside factors?

lol go on youtube. Search the sections on youtube. Khanacademy is super good along with patrickjmt. I’ve used since precalc and it’s helped me through now (multivariable calc) it also may seem that your not giving it your full effort to try and understand the material

When was the last time you really mastered math? You cannot learn algebra if you are shaky on arithmetic, and you cannot learn geometry or trig if you are shaky on basic algebra. Unfortunately, our school system promotes to the next level students who are just barely hanging on and the gaps in their knowledge just keep increasing each year, making it more and more difficult to stay afloat.

You might have to go waaay back and relearn the fundamentals before you can make any real headway at your current level. But it can be done with the help of a good tutor and competent academic counselor, if you are willing to put in the effort. Are you ready to fight?

If you are a math class too advanced for you, bump down to a lower one. Get tutoring. And this is the most important thing of all: practice. I was a math tutor and I can tell you the number one reason why people fail math classes: it’s not stupidity, it’s lack of studying. And by studying I mean doing lots of math problems and MAKING SURE YOU GOT THE RIGHT ANSWER BY LOOKING IT UP IN THE BACK OF THE BOOK.

You will probably ignore my advice, like most people, but it’s the only way you’ll do well in math. Practice practice practice. There is no substitute for it. Tutoring cannot substitute for studying, and attending lecture cannot substitute for studying. Math is one of those fields where you MUST do a lot of studying outside of class unless you are one of those people with a natural knack for it (I normally didn’t have to do much studying beyond simply doing suggested homework exercises or going over old tests/quizzes).

I am so happy math comes easy to me

I do have a learning disability, and I’ve always had one, since elementary school. But I do not have any trouble in any other academic subjects. It is just math that I’ve always had a problem with.
The other thing that makes me mad is, the first 2 times I took the math class, all of the homeworks and even the tests were online, so it wasn’t like we actually had to learn and write down how to do all of the math work. But this third time I took it, we did not use any online resources so I had to write everything down, which made it better for me to actually learning the math (as opposed to just using a computer), and I STILL managed to not pass it! I got a D. I don’t know what’s wrong with me.

So you weren’t allowed to write anything down fir the first two…?

Lemme guess… u have ADD too?
