I'm going into my senior year and its the summer. I've wasted July, and haven't studied :( because of a lot of different things going on and just procrastinating. I got a 148 PSAT score and really want to get a 2000+ score on the SAT through rigorous studying. I want to start this Monday, and I see that there's not much of July left so I only have August and September to study for the October test. Im just so depressed about this and i know ive made a huge mistake by not studying...So my questions are: Do I have enough time to achieve my goal? And is it possible to raise a terrible score to a high one? Any similar stories and how you pulled through? Please please help... Thank you so much. I've asked before, but not many people answered..

Don’t be depressed about the SAT. The answer to your question is that it depends on your weaknesses. Also, you’d have to define “dramatically.”

Consider this: the SAT measures what you’ve learned—or failed to learn—over many years (certainly your time in middle school and high school).

You can probably learn (or relearn) quite a lot of math in a short time by reviewing and/or memorizing formulae/theorems/etc.

The verbal and essay sections are slightly more complex as there is so much information out there that it’s hard to know where to start.

If writing has been a problem for you, then you need to learn about ten important things about grammar and essay structure. Memorizing word lists is of limited value.
