Hey CC,
Just a question:
Is it possible for a student to have all the prerequisites for medical, dental, and optometry school done in college? Do some of the classes required overlap each other? As in, will it be manageable to take all the classes required and do well on the MCAT, DAT, and OAT?

Also, does it hurt to apply to all three schools (will admission officers know)?

I think the courses are basically the same, but if you’re going to apply to all 3 you have to take all 3 tests. That seems like a lot. I don’t know if schools would know, but if they do, I would imagine it would definitely not look good. Why take you, an applicant who is unsure if this is the career you want, over someone who knows it’s what they want?

OP, How can you possibly allocate enough time for 3 different kinds of ECs? The “work” consists of not only classes and standard test scores, but also ECs. That latter (i.e., ECs) could be more time-consuming than the other two.

For some professional program like Physician Assistant (one in California is what I refer to), I heard most qualified applicants may accumulate a thousand hours of a particular kind of ECs.
