I 'm currently a sophomore in a private high school. I take AP Physic B this year and hopefully get 5 in exam. For my junior year, I 'll take 3 or 4 AP classes and self study 3 or 4 more. As an international student, I'm good at math and science but not good at English or history. I wonder, if it's possible to handle so many AP classes in one year (I'm aiming for the National AP scholar in junior)? will it be impressive for my college application (dream school: Stanford)?
Here's the list of all the APs I plan to take.
AP Government (a challenge one to me I think...)
AP Calculus BC (not difficult, I even can get at least 4 now)
AP Chemistry (the teacher of this class is bad...)
AP Stats (also an easy one to me)
self study:
AP Computer Science A (learned Pascal before, never learn Java)
AP Psychology (I'm told that it's a very easy AP class but I'm not that confident)
AP Physic C Mechanic (Calculus based and Physics B based)
And I will take the AP test of my native language in case one of above gets below 4.

AP Stats (also an easy one to me)
dont bother
AP Psychology (I’m told that it’s a very easy AP class but I’m not that confident)
dont bother

Colleges like Stanford are NOT impressed with students who take easy AP classes that dont interest them, in a vain attempt to “impress” . Take the most rigorous classes that you can do well in. Dont be an AP grind.
Do as many outside activities as possible .

Thanks for suggestion. I’ll consider more challenging classes. For outside activities, I’m accepted in several volunteering jobs in my own country’s this summer, going to be an intern in a company and will establish my own company with my friends this summer. Hope everything goes well.

5 challenging AP classes, especially with 2 hard Science AP’s- is MORE than enough. You will have your hands full with that class load. :)>-

@menloparkmom thanks a lot!!!!

If some of those classes interest you, then definitely take them! Like I’m self-studying AP Psychology, despite it being looked down upon, because I’m interested in how the mind works. AP Computer Science A seems really fun, and since you already know one programming language, it would be great.

@LosingCrayon Thank you for your input!!! I cannot agree more!!! : )
