A course which is absolutely required by grad schools in my home country isn’t offered at my Canadian University this year. It will be offered again the semester after I graduate and I would be allowed to take courses on my temporary visa. But can I even take another class after graduation and still have it counted/documented somehow? Has anyone done it and where did they document that you took the class and its GPA (on the official transcript?). I know most of you are in the U.S. but I’m sure it’s similar here in Canada. Thank you
Someone I know is doing almost exactly what you describe right now. This is however at a university in the US.
The additional class will be listed along with all of her previously-completed courses on the transcript that she can order from the university after completing the additional course.
Call the registrar and ask. Also ask if you could take it somewhere else.
You could take it at your current college – if you do that I would suggest speaking to the Registrar to see how/if it will appear on your undergrad transcript. If you take the additional course elsewhere, you would send in the transcript from both colleges to the grad schools. My D took a class at another college over a summer and submitted two transcripts (her regular college transcript and the additional transcript with the one course) to grad schools and it was no issue whatsoever.
