Is it possilbe to go to good a U.S. college without SAT from Canada?

Hi I am just wondering if it is possible to attend a U.S. school without taking SAT or ACT.

I know one of my friend got in to Parson school of design by using her high school marks.
But she is studying art and I want to study engineering...

I have seen on CC a list of SAT optional schools, some of which are quite good. For example, I think Bowdoin is on the list.

As Floridadad says, there are some SAT optional schools (which has nothing to do with whether you’re from Canada or the U.S.), but it’s really not a wise way to choose where you’d like to go to college. Take the SAT and you’ll have many more options.

SAT optional schools fall into three categories:
-3rd and 4th tier schools that are looking to admit warm bodies and collect their tuition dollars
-specialized schools as in art, music and theater schools where a unique set of talents is sought
-Elite schools that take a holistic approach to admissions, looking for superior GPA’s, extracurricular activities and other accomplishments that may not be shown in a single test result.

Here is the complete list of current US universities that may not require an SAT I (but do note the footnotes, as in some cases they do require SAT II tests):

[SAT/ACT Optional 4-Year Universities | FairTest](ACT/SAT Optional List - Fairtest)

Taking SAT tests shows academic vigour and is generally looked at favourably by both Canadian and US universites even if they don’t ask for them. I was told by a UBC engineering faculty member that they don’t ask for SATs but know studnets who write them are applying to sgtrong US schools so they know these appliacnbts are reaching for the stars.
If you missed a deadline for one, inclose a note with your application explaining, but don’t fear writing them- the prep books really work.

WPI is the best choice ,their commonapp supplement says if u dont us to consider ur SAT or ACT scores send us a document showing -
ur research work, mechanical designs, works in robotics, academic work and all other stuff. Its a first tier college and everything except the gender ratio is awesome.
