I am a transfer student and I was just wondering if you have to attend the convocation?

They cancelled it last year because of a hurricane so I’m guessing it’s not super important. They won’t be taking attendance so you really don’t have to go if you don’t want.

what is this convocation?

The President of the University, Dr. Robert L. Barchi, will address incoming students and formally welcome all to the Rutgers University community at Convocation on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 5:15pm. The event will take place at High Point Solutions Stadium on the Busch Campus and feature speeches by students and administrators, as well as performances by several performing arts groups including the Rutgers Glee Club.

Students living in residence halls will travel together as a group and should check with their resident assistant for meeting times and transportation instructions. Convocation is followed by an outdoor BBQ (remember your RUID) and Carnival

How was the convocation?

What kind of food did they serve and what kind of games were available at the carnival part?

Was it good?

I saw a lot of people walking back to Livingston campus from Busch around 8ish. How was the shuttle bus service after the event?

It was fun. I liked certain appacella groups.

They served mostly just hamburgers, veggie burgers and hotdogs.

The games were like the typical carnival type games and you got tickets to redeem prizes like a string bag (it was very silky, it was definitely worth getting).

Overall, I would say it was fun.
