I've been accepted to Penn State for journalism, and I am highly considering going there. Basically, I'll be a 28 year old transfer student in the fall. I've been up and down since HS, and I've had my fun, it's long overdue for me to get a degree and career, so I want to focus heavily on my studies. Of course, I know PSU has the reputation of being a party school, and like I said, I've done that already, so I'd like to avoid them in general. Is this possible without appearing as a complete introvert/anti-social, which I'm not. Thanks for any opinions!

I think its definitely possible to stay away from the party scene without being antisocial, but you have to make sure you will be able to do that. I think it will be very easy to get back into that scene. But ive heard that people really arent too judgemental so I wouldnt worry too much :)

Many schools are party schools. Make sure your living environment is conducive to studying - perhaps live off campus. Set aside fixed fun time and stick to it. These are only possible. suggestions.

Thanks for the tips, you two! kblitz, I’m pretty sure I can do it, and if people are as understanding, as you say, it seems I’ll be fine. desilu, I don’t know why, but I didn’t even think about living off campus, lol, good call. Thanks again!
