I'm turning mine in today. Applying to LSA/Music...

And an extra question. Anyone know if it's possible to withdraw one application later and not the other if I applied to both?

I'm turning mine in today. Applying to LSA/Music...

And an extra question. Anyone know if it's possible to withdraw one application later and not the other if I applied to both?

I applied to the University of Michigan as a dual applicant to LSA and Music on October 30, and today received an email from the School of Music, Theater, and Dance stating that I have been approved to audition.

To my understanding, a dual applicant's application goes to the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts first, where the applicant is admitted or not. If admitted, the applicant is invited to audition to the School of Music, Theater, and Dance. If rejected at the School of Music, Theater, and Dance, the applicant may still enroll into the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. If accepted into both schools, the applicant has the choice of enrolling into LSA or Music, Theater, and Dance.

Please correct me if I am mistaken. I took the email, therefore, to mean that I had been accepted into the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts.

Right, but would it be possible to withdraw my application to one school totally without damaging my application to the other? This is BEFORE finding out about admissions.

Also...I just realized two of my essays are somewhat related to music. #1 (the 250) and #3 (the 500). Is this a bad thing?

being approved for aud doesnt mean you're in LSA unless you were specifically told you'd been admitted to LSA
