to complete last year's supplements right now since this year's aren't on the common app yet? do you think the essay prompts will change at all? because a lot of colleges recycle essays. does anyone know if pomona's are likely to change significantly?

bumpity wumpity.

You can draft something; there is always the chance that things will change. You should wait, though, to submit until this year’s supplements and essay prompts have been posted.

Very true. Thank you :)

For now, I’d brainstorm some ideas on possible topics you can write about.
When supplements get released, that’s when you craft your favorite potential topics to fit the essay’s prompt.

I just called Pomona’s admission’s office and they said the essay prompts are changing! Thank goodness :D

^Oooh really? Yay! I didn’t like last year’s supplement prompts. Did you find out when this year’s supplement prompts will be released?

^ Apparently, I’m the queen of typos. I meant to say “AREN’T changing” lol. Sorrrrry. Not that it matters now you probably figured it out.

And I’m too lazy to start a new thread but I have a new question:

“Is there a broader context in which we should consider your performance and involvements? Are there any external factors we should consider (e.g. family situation, work, sibling childcare responsibilities or other personal circumstances)?”
^ What does this mean? Like what inspired us to take part in our ECs? Hmmm…

My D said “no” to that question; she read it (correctly, I think) as an opportunity to offer an explanation of circumstances such as health, work or family obligations that presented a challenge to the student’s academic performance, or limited her ability to participate in outside activities.

Awesome, thanks :]
