My first choice, which is McGill University, has a deadline of January 15th. If I recall correctly, they have rolling admissions. I've been waiting for a month for my guidance counselor to send them my transcripts. I want to apply as soon as possible but I don't want to rush my counselor because I understand how much work she has to do.

Should I wait patiently for my transcripts to be sent? Or should I ask her about sending my transcripts?

I don’t care who you’re counselor is, a month after requesting a transcript to be sent is way too long to send a transcript. You should probably be seeking aid from higher officials at the high school. As to when to apply, if a college is “rolling” it is to your advantage to apply earlier rather than later.

I forgot to mention that my area was hit by Hurricane Sandy pretty badly. We were off for an entire week and then had a break from school for the following week, totaling up to 2 weeks of no school. Hopefully they can get it in soon. If I don’t receive my transcripts within a week, I’ll visit my counselor.
