Ok, so so far I've only taken one SAT II, which was USH - and I got a 750 on that. I'm pleased with my score and don't plan on re-taking it, but, however, I'm planning on applying to a highly selective university via ED next year (I'm currently a Junior). Do I still have time to take two more subject tests? The reason why I didn't take more this year was because 1) I was fully submerged in AP testing and 2) I plan on taking BIO EM, Math I, and Lit, and I'm not having the AP classes for Bio and Lit until the fall of my Senior year. So do I still have time?!?

Do you have your SAT I out of the way?

Yes, I have. I took it once in December and am retaking it this Saturday to get above a 2000. I’m also taking the ACT next week.

Oh and I might also re-take my SAT a third time next year.

Since you’ll be retaking the SAT and taking the ACT, I’d say spend your time in fall doing subject tests. Don’t worry, you’ll have time Just look at the SAT dates ahead of time and figure out what subject tests you’ll do.

Oh ok thank-you! But what if I don’t score well enough on my SAT I this week? Do I have time to do both the SAT I and my SAT IIs in the fall?

Well you can’t take the SAT I and SAT II on the same day, so it wouldn’t be possible to do both in October.

What if I do one in September and one in October?

Directly from the Collegeboard website. Use this to help you plan.

There is no September test date. Some colleges will accept the November test date for ED; you need to check their websites or call their admissions offices to be sure.

Do not panic! Stay calm for your SAT this Saturday so that you are in good shape for that test. Look at the dates for the tests and the criteria for each school to which you will apply then come up with a plan based on this information. You should be able to work everything out. Some schools accept the November test for their ED so you could take your SAT II in October and then (if needed) the SAT again in November - but look at what the schools will accept. Stay calm and focused. Good luck on your Saturday test!

umm what does ed stand for?

^^^^early decision.

Thank-you so much, guys! Hopefully, all will go well on Saturday and I’ll score above a 2000 - or even better, at least a 2200. If not, then in addition to taking my remaining SAT IIs in October, I’ll retake my SAT I in November. Thanks again guys!
