Is it too late to join clubs/make friends?

First semester I mainly hung out with my suite (it was usually the five of us doing everything) with a few acquaintances. However, my roommate has a TON of friends and when I asked her, she said it was thanks to her major/all the clubs she joined. Is it too late to join a club during second semester or can you only join during your first semester? Also, what are some good ways to meet/befriend people?

My situation is kinda similar to yours. During the first week I made a ton of friends or lets say acquaintances – there was about 40-50 of them. Now we only pretty much say hi and bye to each other lol. Like you, now I have about 5 or 6 main friends that I do everything with. I don’t really have a problem with it, and sorry to break it to you, but it seems like most people (or freshmen) are in cliques by the second month of school.

As far as the clubs and orgs go, there are new ones every semester. Look at these semesters as new school years – only thing that doesn’t change is the dorm and room you are living in. I’m sure your school will have more clubs where you can make more friends this semester, but sadly and like I said before, most people are in cliques already.

It isn’t too late at all! I made all my close friends second semester. Go to club meetings, they are always looking for new members! You may also want to try forming a study group with other people in your major or classes.

Late is better than never. They’ll accept you, just go to meetings.
