Is it too late to tell colleges about this?

If you look at my fresh/soph grades (As/Bs), I did much better than my junior year grades(Bs/Cs). I also took 10 classes (6 AP) junior year. I was kind of nervous that the universities would look and say “he cant handle college level work” but i didnt worry too much about it at the time. I was trying really hard and thought that was the case myself for some time. Well…ive just been dealt my first rejection by ga tech, waitlisted by case, and still waiting on the rest.

Now the thing is, about late november, I knew something was up. I went to the doctor and low and behold, God has managed to screw me over once again. I have some illness which accounts for my low grades. My teachers are very understanding and are working with me. I didnt tell any of the colleges that i applied to, but now I am worried about not getting in anywhere. Is it too late to give a ring and tell them whats up??

The info should have been in your GC's report. If it was not, I suggest that you have your GC call the colleges ASAP with an explanation. It would be better if the info comes from the GC than from you so that the colleges believe the info.

Agree with Northstarmom that there's no way you should approach the colleges yourself. On this board alone ther have been scores of stories about just diagnosed ADD and other things. Family problems that weren't originally disclosed. Colleges must hear it all! If your GC finds your case compelling, they can liaise with the colleges.
