that is what my roommate told me. but he is an international student so im guessing its different?

any input?

No way. You can apply to as many UCs as you want.

As far as I know, you can apply to every single one. But there is a application fee for each one you apply too.

Unless you get the fee waived, then just apply to all of them.

harrypotter- It will cost you but you are able to apply to all of the UC’s.

if they waive the application fee, it only covers 4 schools, the rest you’d still have to pay for. but you can apply to all of the schools

its your money, so you can apply to as many as you wish

no, I applied for 6 UCs, haha

Also it is not different for international students, why would they want to limit it?? They make so much money off people just applying. Your roommate is full of ****.

Community college students can only apply to 9 UCs.

To be a smartass, they can actually apply to 10 UCs. I know some people who applied to UCSF to get their Pharm.D. No bachelor degree is formally required, just finish the pre-reqs listed on assist. The same works for Dentistry.

What’s the application fee per UC?

ok, 10 UCs, I stand corrected.

$60 each.

Really? I would have thought that the UCs would have been cheaper. That’s the same fee for private universities. I couldn’t possibly imagine paying $600 towards 10 UC app fees.

If you are a girl, applying to Wellesley is free! :)

Really? Hmmm…I have been thinking about it a lot recently. MIT is #1 on my transfer list. If I wasn’t accepted, I could still take classes there because of the joint program with Wellesley. I’m unsure about their engineering and sciences. Further research…
Thanks for bringing that up.

There are differences for International Students. For one, their application fee is $70, whereas citizens pay $60. And just as treynight mentioned, if you qualify for a fee waiver, it will only cover four schools. However, international students who do not have permanent residency do not qualify. Directly from the UC website…

“UC will waive application fees for up to four campuses for qualified students who otherwise would be unable to apply for admission. To be accepted for the fee waiver program, you must meet specific requirements related to your family income and size. The fee waiver program is for United States citizens and permanent residents only.”

So unless your roommate qualified for a fee waiver, I have no idea why he believes you are limited to # of applications.

[University of California - Admissions - The University of California offers one of the broadest ranges of study of any institution of higher learning in the world, all at an affordable price.](http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/undergrad_adm/apply/how_apply/apply_fees.html)

Yep…women’s college = not my thang, but I still applied because the application fee was free. lol Didn’t get in though (didn’t go to the required interview, although I doubt that’s the only thing…hehe probably didn’t sound enthusiastic enough in my essay!)
