Ugly people get jobs all of the time. It’s just that you’ll have to accept that HR is going to label you “Awkward” even if you’re not Awkward at all, due to your ugliness. If you get a job in a company with a strong HR department and/or any female interviewer, it will be by the skin of your teeth, but still very possible.

They can, but it is much harder. People with nice appearance tend to attract clients more than average/ugly people do. Thus, they have an advantage.

Having a “nice appearance” or being considered “attractive” is based on so much more than one’s bone structure, eye color or size of nose. It is based on how one carries oneself, what kind of style, grace and personality one exudes.

Sometimes people with perfect features can be bland and indistinguishable. However there are people who light up a room with a presence that is undefined.

Work on your self -confidence, people skills and fashion sense and you will be fine.

Get a really hot body and then wear those huge sunglasses. This is what most “below-average” girls do these days. If you’re a guy, get buff and tell everyone you have a big wang. Problem fixed.

hey theres two types a people in this world. the show ponies and the work horses. the pretty people just stand in front but never actually get anything done. It’s the ugly people that work hard and go far in life. Like Bill Gates. hes ugly as ****. and look at him!

Besides, some companies like uglier people better anyways haha. It shows they care more about what really matters in life, and not just material things and looks

id hire an ugly kid over a premadonna any day. besides. they probably partied in high school and college way too much haha

I also forgot, if you’re a girl, get fake boobs. Then nobody will look at your face. Ok I’m done…

I think most of the others hit it on the head. Being attractive can certainly give you an advantage, and being unattractive may create an obstacle or two. But, none of it is anything a little bit of hard work and luck can’t overcome. You’ll be fine.

plscatamacchia are you stalking me or something? do you have a problem with what im saying?

itsthefuture seriously stop worrying about your looks. if you want to go far in business you probably should focus a little more on your work ethic and less on your face…its sad people even care about the way they look more than what they bring to the table

Usually, only the first impression is based on person’s appearance, which means that you still have a chance to prove to someone that you are a good candidate, even if you are not handsome.

Real life experience: Didn’t you notice that many attractive girls go out with below average guys? Well, I see that all the time. This fact shows that appearance is not the most important thing on earth. If it was, then ugly people, like it was in Egypt, would be thrown into the lake with crocodiles.

Those hot girls dating those guys aren’t NEARLY as catty as the women working in HR departments. Women in HR departments will look at you and immediately dismiss you as Awkward if your body does not meet certain unsaid proportions.

The Feds are very numbers based due to discrimination type laws. They still have interviews, but since they don’t have clients to attract like many companies it’s probably less of an issue to be ugly. If your job search totally fails you can always join the military, probably exit in better shape physically than you are now and with more self-confidence…and then apply to Federal jobs with a 5 point bonus. It’s very difficult, legally, for them to pass over you in favor of an equally qualified non-vet.

Numerous academic studies and other experiments have demonstrated that attractive people fare better in most ways.

Studies have shown:
-In most cases, given two candidates with the same credentials, the better looking is hired.
-Better looking people are more respected.
-Babies respond better to (what our society says are) better looking people.

DO NOT ATTACK ME. I am not saying this is OK. I am dismayed by it. I’m just reporting what I have read.

No wonder we have an obsession with plastic surgery in this country?
