I am going to be applying to the BCSA program and I want to study under the school of design. I have my art supplement finished, but I am wondering if I should fly out to CMU for the interview? I mean it would be fairly expensive (500$ for tickets + expenses) and I heard that the interview only lasts 10-25 minutes. So my question is, will that be the deciding factor in my admission? Money is kinda tight already because of app costs and other things, and this would REALLY put a squeeze on our budget, but I talked to my parents and they said that it would probably be possible if I dropped a few other school apps, which I would readily do for CMU. what do you guys think?

Call up the admissions office and ask. They’re super friendly and this is exactly the sort of question they’d love to answer. (And they’ll give you a much better answer than anything you’re going to get here!)
