Is it worth going CGS and then majoring in BSM?

I recently got accepted into the CGS but I wanted to get isto BSM. Apparently, I have to do 2 years of CGS before I can move onto the BSM :/. Do you think its worth going the boring liberal arts classes, or should I just go to Tulane or Northeastern, where I can 4 years of buisness?

You will be required to do “boring liberal arts” classes at Tulane and Northeastern too. They will be spread out over 4 years. It is called a distribution requirement at most all schools. Schools require this so that you will not come across as a dolt when you are trying to make conversation with business clients and partners.

We are trying to figure out the same thing. Our son was accepted into CGS but wanted business too. He’s trying to decide what to do also. His other option, in the area, is Bentley, where he would begin business right away. Such a hard decision, it’s like this is great he got accepted, but then a let down, because its not into the “real” business school. Hard decision to make. Bentley was always his #1, but BU is known nationwide. Decisions, decisions. Good luck to you!

If you search “CGS” in the forum here, you will find lots of helpful information on this program. I have been following t this forum and have answered this question a few times, as I found that there was not a lot of up to date information on a program that our DD said prepared her BETTER for her major than if she had chosen her own distribution and other elective courses. The reading and writing is rigorous and directed toward persuasion and analysis vs. mechanics. The Capstone project is excellent. Read through the posts, ignoring any from people who didn’t attend and any from PaloVerde, who attended 25 years ago and for some reason chimes in regularly with misinformation. A summary is that it’s a terrific program except for heavy science/math folks or those in some of the Sargent College majors. DD did CGS, the CGS summer in London program, a semester abroad in England, and STILL graduated a semester early magna cum laude with a COM degree.
