Is it worth it to take a G E class?

To all of the engineering students out there, will it be worth it to take a G E class? I was told by many of my friends that taking G E 207K helped them a lot. But, when I talked to my advisor today, she said that there has been a lot of negative feedback for that course. Has anyone out there taken M 427K with this G E 207K class?

Can’t speak to that combination, but my son is in GE206D which pairs with CH301. He feels like the GE is the reason he is sailing through chem. The GE courses are really just tutoring for a credit (easy A). Since you have to study anyway and UT has flat-rate tuition, there doesn’t seem to be a downside!

Thanks for the input. The reason I ask is because the class conflicts with one of my other classes. So I will have to put the other class off until next fall. I would hate to put it off if the G E 207K class isn’t worth it. So far everyone has told me they are lifesavers. I have no idea what my advisor was talking about.
