Is it worth missing triton day?

So i applied to raging waters and the training is on April 7th, 8th, and 9th. Triton day is on the 8th and I really did want to go. What exactly will there be on triton day? And i am going to ask if there are any other training days but if not, what should i do? PLEASEEEE HELP

Have you already decided that UCSD is definitely the college that you’ll choose to attend? If so, I think it is not very important to attend Triton Day.

I’d recommend Triton Day as being more essential for someone who is still trying to choose between UCSD and other universities. They (or their parents) may very much wish to ask some questions, hear a presentation from their major’s department, tour their prospective dorm building, talk to students who are sharing information about their campus clubs, and just generally experience the vibe on campus to see if UCSD feels like the right place for them to learn and live for the next four years of their lives.

Triton Day is like a big open house, pretty cool for accepted students to attend and also for high school students who may want to apply to UCSD in another year or two. But it is not required and it is up to you to decide whether you want the extra chance to visit UCSD to learn anything more about it before making the big commitment.

If you are confident about your decision to attend UCSD, don’t worry about missing Triton Day. Later, there will be another event called Orientation which will give you another chance to become more familiar with what to expect when you start your freshman year at UCSD. Orientation is an overnight event which is in mid-June for most students; there’s also a mid-September Orientation overnight which is convenient for out-of-state or international students; they don’t have to make an extra trip to California as it is right before the move-in date for the dorms.

Source: I’m a mom to current UCSD student who did fly down to Triton Day to help him feel certain before making his final choice to attend UCSD. I’m also a mom to a high-school senior who is now very happy to have received an acceptance to UCSD and who will probably not attend Triton Day since he is already pretty familiar with UCSD after making two visits to the campus with his older brother.

@SunnyByTheBay thank you so much! I am certain that I want to go to UCSD and your comment really eased my nerves! I appreciate it!(:
