So... currently my applications for other universities are ready and I'm thinking about applying to Stanford. Both my parents want me to apply not only because the academic excellence but also because it is near my uncle's house. As the admission rate is already so low, I am not sure if it's really worthy to apply... I mean... I don't have stellar SAT or GPAs... My SAT scores is 2050~(estimated) and our school don't have GPA(I'm under A Level system..) My GPA may be somewhere at 3.7~...
There are really lots of questions and essays required for Stanford. My counselor and teachers say I have very strong essays though, all my essays are edited THOROUGHLY for 5 to 10 times to ensure the quality. It could be very time- and energy-consuming. My ECAs are quite unique and I can say that no many applicants have similar activities as I do. Overall my application may stand out as distinctive, artistic and well-rounded.
However, my main concern & obstacle is SAT. I'm not sure if they are even bother to read my applications. Allegedly, most of top unis filter the applications with SAT scores first and then proceed evaluation. It's close to the deadline and I have no idea if I should start. My parents and teachers said that it is better to regret something I have done than something I haven't. Please give me some suggestions.
Thanks in advance!

Oh and I’m applying to the art practice program. Does it have a lower SAT requirement?

Let’s see if I can clear some things up. Top US schools do not filter by score and then proceed, this is not how they describe in any account and it is quite the opposite and there is plenty of evidence forit. There is nothing to support that assertion. All files will be assigned to readers/admission officers. It is the officer’s own call how long they spend on the file and it is very possible they spend 8 to 20 minutes on it.

Stanford does not have lower SAT scores for certain majors. You are not really accepted or held to any particular major at that school even though you might indicate on on the application your initial interest. Your SAT is likely on the low end for accepted students but isn’t so low that it would trigger any rejections of the type you fear. If you feel you are a unique applicant I am sure that Stanford is interested in talent/ability they classify it as extremely important, so any special ability can overrule most other elements. They get so many people wanting to study CS so it must be good to have other skills. Of course any student’s chance to get in is slim at 5 pct admit rate, and an international applicant will be extremely difficult, last year they enrolled 128.

Thank you for your opinion. Application fee is not my first concern though. I care more about my time and energy.
