Hello everyone!I am an international student and admitted by Vanderbilt University and College of William & Mary of LLM program.I now choose between the two universities.Vanderbilt University has a better ranking which is 16.The major concern is the cost.I do not get scholarship from Vanderbilt University now,it maybe possible after April.I got $11,000 from College of William & Mary.So the total cost of Vanderbilt University will be higher than College of William & Mary about $23,000.I am now a Grade 4 undergraduate student and I need my family to support me.Although my family can afford it,it will also be a huge amount.
My major concern is that if it is worthy of spending much more to study in Vanderbilt University?Does it have big difference between Vandy and William Mary?
Thank you so much for your kind advice.LOL

I plan to take the Bar exam after LLM graduation. Then I want to practice law in USA on OPT period. After that,if there is some chances I want to continue work in USA law firms. So which school is better for my career plan?

Do you have US citizenship or a means to get it?

I do not have US citizenship and I want to get it.What about your suggestions?^ _ ^

Working in a US firm requires a work visa for a non-citizen. To hire you with a work visa they have to show an extraordinary need, which is particularly difficult for lawyers since there is such an overproduction of them. This is definitely something to consider and deal with before committing to an LLM.

If you do get it handled, you should probably retake the LSAT. A score good enough to get into Vandy is good enough to improve for a real shot at better schools (or more money at Vandy). If you’re set on either Vandy or W&M though, it’s Vandy no contest. W&M is bad.
