National Business Honor Society at my school is relatively new, run by the same people who run our huge DECA program (though the two are run soo differently). I should have been given an application last year to join as a charter member, since I met the requirements. Instead, I, and several other people, were overlooked and did not receive applications until this year. It makes me wonder whether or not it is worth the name to join something that is so disorganized. Also, they don't really DO anything, so it's not like it would be anything other than the name.

Has something like this happened to anyone? What did you do?

(really though they had one job and couldn't even do it right, ahjdkgfg so annoying.)

All right so my perspective is coming as somebody in two honor societies (NAHS and NHS)…

I personally am the person that gets people to apply/tells them about NAHS. We all make mistakes/are only human. I have two designated days that I encourage people to consider joining, after that the only way you are joining is if you hear about it from and talk to our faculty council. The truth is that even a small school such as mine we only have so much time and if you are absent we might miss you…

Anyway so honors societies totally vary by school. Both chapters I am in do more then a lot of schools, but we also know of chapters that do three times as much as us. It will also vary based on the dedication of that years officers.

If you think you will enjoy NBHS go ahead and apply. Worst case scenario you get in, don’t like it and leave after a year.

if(you can get a leadership position)
then → join
else
do not join
