I just got my acceptance letter from lynchburg college. It is number 10 on my list out of 10 schools of which I applied to. I really don't even know anything about lynchburg. I was just wondering if anyone had any insight as to the academics of lynchburg, student life, rankings or any other information that you would like to share about the school.

Why did you apply if you knew nothing? It's a Christian college in west-central VA. Chances are if it's choice #10, you'll get into one of your first 9 choices. If you don't, at Lynchburg you'll get a solid small Christian LAC education.

I applied as a SUPER Fallback school.

I have 4 reaches, 2 matches, 3 safeties, and then Lynchburg. That was just incase everything else went wrong.

What are your stats and schools applying to?

I work 25 hours per week and have done so since the beginning of sophmore year.

Summer Program at Dartmouth.

Thats all I can think of right now.

KLL, I like the list. Wake is a friendly place you should get into; Davidson is hard work, but I think it's the best LAC south of the M-D Line; Dartmouth and Hanover is like Davidson and Davidson but in NH; and I like the Penn choice. I hope you get into one or more of the above 4, visit each, and attend the one that's the best fit for you. Are you good enough in golf or track to do them at the small college level? If so, call the coaches and have them give a helping hand.

I got the Hopwood Scholarship to Lynchburg. 12,000 per year for four years.

I graduated from LC a couple of years ago. Take my advice and stay away from this place. Its mediocre, the profs are either apathetic, too easy, or wacko. It seemed like just when I would find a prof i liked he would leave (one of the profs confided in me that those that can go somewhere better do). There is no challenge academically.

Lynchburg itself is small and boring and there's nothing to do except drink or drive for hours to get anywhere. I realized to late that I should have gone somewhere else.

Good luck on your other choices. I wish I had had them!

Lynchburg is no worse than scores of college towns around the country. I don't know what activities you are looking for but there are several theaters and more coming. A number of great new restaurants have opened in the last five years. There are some good bars for all types. Outdoor activity is nearby with the Blue Ridge Parkway, Smith Mountain Lake, and Wintergreen (skiing) all within an hour. There is now a choice off coffehouses from Starbucks (3) to some local places. Shopping has expanded dramatically with Barnes & Noble, Old Navy, Kohls and lots of others recently opening and two more large malls coming. Charlottesville with bigtime concerts is only an hour away. The weather is mild and the people are easy going.

Apparently Ipso's only interest in this entire site is to rank on LC. 8 posts all here
