^^ Great answer from a fiscal point of view. Unless parents are paying for med school, I too just do not see the point just for the money. Law is a bit more tricky because one is not really limited as much as a med degree, but even then one needs to be careful. I know several lawyers who do not practice at all and make literally millions doing other things.
Go into Medicine only for the love of it.
My husband and I are both physicians,one of us in a high earning specialty.
I cannot tell you the no of holidays and weekends and nights we have both spent working missing family events and milestones.Yes we have combined wealth but it will not give us our years back.
However we have few regrets as we both love what we do and are humbled and inspired by our patients.
I will add none of my 2 teenage children want to do Medicine.
