is my academic dismissal appeal letter good?

  1. This past semester was a disappointment and was by far one of my most challenging semesters as a college student. Due to me having trouble in obtaining a loan for my tuition in a timely manner because I thought I had enough time, I had a financial hold put on my account that held me from registering for classes that later led to me registering for classes after they had already started. As a result of this, I was already behind on the material and it made me have to catch up on the material that my class had already covered. Me being stubborn led to me not going to office hours as much as I should've. I fell behind on my work and I instead decided to teach some of the course materials to myself, instead of seeking help, which in the end was a bad decision. Before this semester, I had a fall term GPA over 2.0, so I know that a good student and capable of meeting the academic criteria to stay at the university.
  2. Although I know that this was a disappointing semester on my behalf, if reinstated I would be grateful and not take this opportunity for granted. I assure that I will register for classes earlier by seeking loans earlier than usual. I will stop being stubborn and seek more office hours opportunities with my professors/TAs, I will stay on top of time management by using a planner. At my current summer internship at Key Digital Systems, I've found out about an online task management program that I can put tasks on and check them off as I go. I will make a set schedule for study hours and stop waiting until the last minute to study and do assignments. A big thing that I plan on cutting down on is my social life, which cuts into my studying time. Lastly, but most importantly, I will enroll in the A-plus academic support service for students to ensure that I understand all of the course material and find different ways to improve my studying. This past semester I've met and also talked on the phone with my advisor Katie Sechler, who gave advice on ways that I can get better grades in my classes, I want to continue to meet up with her. Transferring from a community college, I've noticed that I have to stop being lazy and take full advantage of the resources being provided to me on campus.
