is my DE program bad for top 20s?

In my school’s dual enrollment program, it already covers English classes in junior/senior year so my school demands us to not take AP lang/lit during the last 2 years. The guidance counselors have also stressed that it provides the same rigor as AP English lang/lit at our school. In the dual enrollment program, they plan out our schedule and community college classes and since they try to squeeze other classes into our schedule, they left out 2 years of English out of the curriculum. So the summer before senior year, students in our DE program take community college classes for English in the span of two months to cover two years of English. Will top universities look down upon my choice of classes?

  • I chose my Dual enrollment program at my school because I thought it would look impressive due to the fact that my school offers a few APs

I don’t know if it will be looked down on, but if you are really worried, you can still take the AP test even without taking the class.

From another thread, it doesn’t seem you chose rigorous courses in hs or the DE college. It’s just not about taking DE (or AP) to “look” impressive. The actual choices matter. Look at what top colleges recommend for hs courses.

Right now, be sure you’re looking at safeties and matches, first.

Depends on the specific courses you take.
