Is my GPA high enough?

Hi! I was wondering if anyone could tell me if a 4.2 out of 4.3 unweighted GPA would be high enough to at least get me noticed for admission to Princeton (I'm not an athlete, no hooks).

Thanks in advance!

Certainly.

Do you really need someone to tell you if a 4.2/4.3 GPA is high enough? rule 1: apply common sense first.

people overly concerned with GPA don’t get in to Princeton

Thanks for the replies  @T26E4 I didn’t mean to offend you, I was just asking something that’s been on my mind :/

lyselle: I’m not offended – but sometimes people fail to see the forest for the trees. Congrats on the GPA & good luck w/Pton admissions

Lyselle I suspect you wanted reassurance, emotional support, for something you know empirically to be true. That’s OK. College application time is daunting for many. We wish you all the best. If you have other questions, feel free to ask them here.

I would say if you are rejected, it is not due to you GPA.

Your gpa is perfectly fine, and it is too late to worry about such things anyway. If you are applying early, there isn’t much you can do in about a month and a half too boost your chances.

Even so, no one can really assume that the OP’s GPA is “good” and competitive for Pton.

Ask yourself this: what rank does that GPA put me in? Have people from my school gotten into Pton with that rank/gpa?

If they have, then yes, you are a candidate.

It’s not so much the numbers as the actual transcript. If you’ve been taking a ton of “joke” APs like Euro and Psych to boost your GPA while your classmates have been taking Physics C, Eng Lit, Chem, Spanish, well…

Also “hiding” one’s Bs by taking the aforementioned easy APs…
