If you went or are currently going to Princeton University, what was your GPA when you got accepted there?

My school’s GPA is out of 100 and there is no weighting system. I am a senior in high school and my GPA is 98.43. I will graduate salutatorian.

My DD’s GPA was 4.0 unweighted, 4.52 weighted.

Going into Princeton, my GPA was like , ~3.9 UW, 4.8-4.9 W… but that is because I slacked off 2nd semester and ended up with a B and B+.

Could I ask what the purpose of this topic is? Are you trying to see how smart the kids at Princeton are? Let me know if you are, because I can probably provide some insight. I’m currently a freshman here.

4.0 UW, 4.6 Weighted

How smart are Princetonians?

3.96 UW

3.95 UW … (maybe 3.96?)

Yes I am trying to see what kind of grades it takes to get accepted to Princeton.

ha. All of you guys are so smart…

I have a 3.85ish UW. weighted is like 4.66, but our school offers TONS of AP classes.

I don’t think your grades matter as much as your ranking compared to other people in your high school. I mean, they take how hard your high school is into account when they admit you, so that a 5.0 from a rather easy high school won’t be seen as better than a 4.5 from a very difficult high school.

Just go for the best grades you can throughout high school. When it comes the time to decide if you want to apply to Princeton (i.e. do I have any chance of getting in?), just try your best to estimate if you stand a chance of getting in. Perhaps you can take a look at the stats of people who got accepted/waitlisted/rejected from Princeton. GPA by itself should not be used to measure if you can get into Princeton. There are just too many external factors (i.e. minorities/your family started dying during sophomore year/etc.) that can cause you to have a low GPA and still get you into Princeton.
