hi, I’m just worried that I didn’t take hard enough classes this year. I am currently in my junior year which is considered the most important, and my schedule is APES, AP Psych, HN Eng 11, HN Bio (got physics credit freshman year), US history, HN French 4, Precal with Trig. I currently have a 3.8 weighted GPA, and I think I can maintain it (Next year I plan on taking AP French and AP Bio and maybe AP Stat). I’m not planning on applying to any ivy league colleges I just want to be somewhere I’m happy. But is my junior year schedule too easy? will colleges think I wasn’t pushing myself or should I be able to get into a college with this schedule?
That is absolutely a college prep track and you’ve done well in your courses. I think graduating with 5 APs is solid for many colleges and you will have good options.
I’m not really too sure but I like science, I really wanted to take an AP science besides APES, but in my county, it is required to take Chem, And Bio first then move on to the AP core science classes. That’s why I want a core AP science class next year because I couldn’t take it this year. Instead of Stat, I may take AP Calc then, because I’m doing well in precalc rn it’s easy for me.
You’re totally fine as long as you swap out Stats with Calc, as others have mentioned. That would be the only place where an adcom would think you’re not challenging yourself. It’s not that Calc is required but if they offer calc and stats and you had the option to take Calc and chose stats, that would be a concern. If you ended at Pre-Calc as a senior, because you started ninth with algebra, they wouldn’t hold that against you because you progressed through algebra/geo/alg 2/pre-calc.
