I strugged a little bit on my SAT II in latin and received a 670, is it going to hurt me greatly in the admissions process?

"Greatly"? No. But it is a factor that's considered, and it will hurt, just as any other imperfect factor. (I'm assuming you're applying to places where 670 is a poor score). You might consider retaking it or taking 2-3 other SAT IIs that you'd score higher on.

Collegeboard's Latin exams are typically quite difficult relative to their other ones. 670 isn't that bad.

I got a 650-and honestly it is much higher percentile wise than many other scores..and it is already a self-selected group

My daughter's lowest SAT Subject Test score was also in Latin. She got a 680. She does have several stronger scores in other subjects, though, so I know she's not really fretting about it.

You could retake it, I suppose, although the score isn't that bad. Probably a better idea is to take a couple more in other subjects you can do very well with... if you haven't already.

It depends on where you are applying. I would just take a couple more SAT IIs that you know you can do well on -- that will really negate your score.

750+ is excellent, ideal
700+ is in the comfort zone
650+ is acceptable

Most people who take the Latin SAT II do exceedingly well on it.
You could always retake it.

In my case, Latin was my highest score. =P

I got a 630 on latin to go with my 800 on math II and 780 on US history. I also got a 5 on the AP latin exam. It was pretty hard.

Dartmouth accepts scores of 680 or above to satisfy their language requirement... just to put it in perspective.

Are we really complaining about a 670 in Latin? If it was your only SAT II, then yeah, but presumably you took another or maybe even two more. Many schools on require two SAT II, and will probably only look at your top two scores.

Barnard accepts scores of 781 or above to satisfy their language requirement... just to put it in perspective.

Damn.

Yikes. Barnard is demanding! ;)
