I got a 1110/1520 on my PSAT. Im in 10th grade, I also didn’t study. I got college letters from decently good schools in the top 50 in the US, one even 15th, all regarding my PSAT scores. Is it actually any good? The site said I was in the 83 percentile, but what does that mean when it comes to good colleges? What ranked colleges will my score get me into, top 50?
My GPA is a 3.75-3.8; weighted it is 4.185-4.2. Is my GPA with my PSAT score a good enough combination for ivy league or am I still looking at schools that are top 50? What should i aim for on the SAT (its now out of 1600)
I would aim for above 1400 on the SAT to get into the ivies. Your GPA is fine just keep it up there. Ivy leagues will turn down many applicants with perfect scores, so don’t be discouraged if you don’t get in. Studying for the SAT helps immensely.
looks decent (if ur planning on studying for it like I am). I managed a 1300 but I did some prior prep for it.
Yeah, it’s my new summer hobby XD. I guessed on the math section and still did decent, and it was my grammar that brought my score down but since those are the easier ones to improve i think I’ll be a-okay.
Don’t pay any attention to those letters. They are sent to people with scores and other credentials that put them out of the running for the very schools sending those letters. Don’t be fooled into thinking that the schools are interested in you. They are not. They are trying to get as many people to apply as possible and don’t care if they are really qualified or not. A higher % of rejects elevates the school on certain ranking lists (US News, for example).
@courtz215 Those letters don’t mean much. I’ve been getting ones from Stanford, Harvard etc. lately, and I really couldn’t care less. I’m not getting these letters because I’m academically qualified; I’m getting them because I have a heartbeat lol. Your current score of 1110 isn’t really Ivy level (1450+ would be more competitive), but you’ve got plenty of time to bring your score up. Good luck.
