Is My Schedule Too Rigorous?

You'll be fine, don't worry.

wow i hate these threads.

I do to... You really shouldn't decide what to do based on what a person on a board tells you. See how it goes for you, and if YOU feel you need to, drop a class. It's how it works.

Thanks for your posts jv122, 1639, cr_brook, john9222, rofleke, and TienIsCoolX. Even though some posts were nothing but jocularity, asinine comments expressing dislike, or were completely usurping my position as "curious student who seeks opinions".

"jv122", I would be completely foolish to base my decisions on what someone tells me on a board. Before I registered for my classes I gave extensive thought to all that my classes and schedule might entail. I was simply posting this to recieve opinions on my schedule and not on what I should do with it. I appreciate the advice.

To provide at least some picture of my academic "strengths/weaknesses", I thought I should say that I'm fairly competent at most things. I am noticeably weaker in mathematics, but that is only in the context of my strengths. My most notable strength is in reading and writing and therefore, I am an English Literature major. I have a blazing passion for all areas of academic study excluding math(when it is only for math's sake and is not explicitly linked to science in some way).

I apologize for any times that I have may have come across as crass. I am hoping that my tact will blossom sooner than later. I thank you all for your time and your advice and for your tangential comments. If anybody wishes to post a comment, feel free to, I'm still willing to check it. This is my first post and I'm quite pleased that I have recieved as many replies as I did. Again, thanks and I apologize for the long message. I hope it was a fun read at least...

No your schedule is not rigorous.

Lectures: Math10A (Calculus), MWF, 8:00-8:50 a.m.

This is the 10 series and isn't very difficult. A lot of people will complain about an 8AM class, I'd say it's more important to lump your classes together to build up free time, which you seem to have done.

Doc1 (Diversity), MWF, 11:00-11:50 a.m.

All of the writing classes are a pain, but you can't avoid them.

Physics 9 ( The Solar System), Tu/Th, 9:30-10:50 a.m.

This class will be a joke.

Music15 (Popular Music: The Beatles), Mon, 6:00-8:50 p.m.

Another very non intensive class.

Basically what is "rigorous" depends entirely on what kind of person you are. Are you going to go to lecture and pay attention? Will you do the homework early enough to understand the content before you have to cram? Always start with more than you think you can handle, you can easily drop classes - you can't easily add them.

Thanks for the reply got_Ammo. Your post confirms my assumptions about Physics 9. I'm an English Lit. major and that class is "specifically" for non-science majors, which to me meant that it would be rather simple. Thanks again.

haha so in high school i would wake up everyday for class that started at 6:45...and now the earliest class i can take is at 10
hahaha i still dont know why i cant wake up like i used to... gah

I'm somewhat apprehensive that the same thing might happen to me "gracie 06". Oh well, I think it will ultimately depend on me and my motivation.

Ugh... I got class at 8 AM two days a week...... :(

my earliest is discussion on wed at 10am. i have tuesdays off and my earliest lecture is 12. yeah i rule

oh yeah well my earliest class is every day at 11am am and i have thursdays off so who rules the school now oho burn

^lol............

no i rule more

I have fridays off...three day weekend!

I have no days off, but my tuesdays and thursdays ...I only have one or 2 classes.

how the hell do you have fridays off when 99999% of lectures are MWF?

You don't go to lectures every day. You pick one lecture during the week and go to that one.

Me? I always go to lectures on Monday and Tuesday. I have a 5 day weekend, beat that.

Wait, but when on "Schedule of Classes", it says MWF 12:00-12:50, that's Monday, Wednesday, Friday isn't it? I have to go to all of those days...

MWF means Monday AND Wednesday AND Friday.

Exactly, so how does that one dude have fridays have when the VAST MAJORITY of lectures are MFW?
