Help on schedule?

hey guys, I was wondering if any of you took LTWR 8A, 8B, or 8C classes. I am not good at writing but I am not terrible at it either (I got 3 on AP English and I got 710 on writing section of SAT) So do you guys know if this course is difficult, and how is the amount of work?

oh..and i will probably have more questions on what classes i should take so i will be posting more on this thread LOL......if other ppl have questions feel free to bombard this thread.

Yeah like I am kind of confused as well. The E counseling guy/lady said that to take Chem6A I'd have to take math10A as well, so like if my major needs chem then I'd have to take both of these now right? Because I was thinking of Econ and that doesn't require chem6A but then I'm worried if I decide to change my major to say.. biology or cog sci or something (does the latter require chem?)

ihavenolife: you don't need to worry about it RIGHT at this moment, since the prereqs say you must finish your college's writing program before starting LTWR8A-C. just check with e-advising if you are trying to do your 4-year plan.

tieniscool: that is correct. to take chem6a, you must be taking (at least) math10a or math20a at the same time. if you are changing your major, you will have to take chem for biology, as chem6a is a prereq for bild1 (first quarter biology). i don't know about cogsci.

What's the latest I should take a class? 7 pm? I plan on sleeping anywhere between 11PM to 2AM so that's why I'm asking

iran.4, we arent your parents...you are going to college now. make your own decisions. how the hell should we know what works for you. as a young adult, think about what you would like--everyone works well under their own schedule.

No, let me rephrase that. Is a 5-620 class popular or do people tend to take classes before noon?

as atlantiz said, think about what you would like. why does it matter when other people want to go to class?

"No, let me rephrase that. Is a 5-620 class popular or do people tend to take classes before noon?"

You know where you can find an answer to this exact question? This dandy tool called "Schedule of Classes"! I swear, it tells you how many people take the class at a particular time. Hell, you can look up any class possible! I know it sounds like I'm joking, but I swear, it's real.

I know, but I don't know how much homework I will have. If a class ends at 620, being a first time student freshman student, I honestly don't know the work loads, if any. Is there a lot of homework to be completed for Chem6A?

Dude this is college, no hand holding, thus, work loads mostly are optional, do it or don't, no one gives a F.

there is always hw everyday, it's just a matter of when you decide to do them. this is not high school anymore. i understand that you have no idea how hard it's going to be but you'll be better off if you prepare yourself for a heavier courseload. like people said, you know best what works for you. people are different. look at your usually habits and that should help.

Well, I'm a generally good student. I just don't want to take a class that ends at 7PM when I have tons of homework to do all night. I just don't know. How much is "a lot" of homework per day? Do most people finish their day of school at what time? This isn't another question, but I'm just curious as to what the average time is when students take their last course.

Generally, Chem 6A consists of a problem notebook checked 3-5 times/quarter, 3-5 quizzes in discussion, 2 midterms, and a final.

Hoeger (and I think Johnson) followed this, and he says it's the norm.

Figure out your needs according to that.

Has anyone taken HILD 2A or 7A?
...and has anyone taken POLI 10-13?
.....and PSYC 1 , 3?

I've read all the course descriptions for these but I want to really know is How is the difficulty of these classes and the amount of workload?

i am undeclared major right now so I seriously have no idea what classes i should to take. and i am definitely not a math or science person. lol....so yea, please help.

I'm taking 4 classes this quarter, with one of them being only a lecture (Engineering class). Two lectures, one discussion on Monday ending at 5PM. Two lectures, two discussions on Tuesday ending at 8PM. I end late on Tuesday, but then have 5 days without classes to do work that I don't do during those two days.

I know people that distribute their classes all over the week, and do their work in between classes. It works for them, so good for them. What works for me, I do.

You need to figure out what benefits you the most, and do it. Stop asking questions, and just do it.

Woah, you have two days worth of school each week? How does that work? Let me guess, you have two 1:20 hour classes right? I'm just guessing.

I have 4 classes. A mechanical engineering, a biology, a math, and a sociology class. The engineering class is lecture only, but there is still work involved.

Any feedback on this:

I don't like having only one class on a day, or a long time between classes. You kind of have to build your day around your class Thursday, which is kind of unfortunate that it is so late. Besides that it seems fine.

I agree with roflkeke... Can you stick those classes on T and Th after one of you MMW classes?? You'll like the whole days off way better. I loved having an entire Thursday off while everyone else was scurrying between classes.
