I'm taking AP Calculus, AP Human Geography, AP US Gov, AP Stat, AP Lit, Honors Physics 2, and Microeconomics. I was thinking about taking AP chemistry, but am going into business so I took micro instead. Is my schedule to weak?

5/7 (not including Microeconomics which exists as an AP) of your classes are AP. That is enough to make your senior schedule rigorous enough. Ivy Leagues are a reach to high reach for everyone, but your class schedule is not enough to disqualify you from consideration.

Of course not! Are you participating in any clubs or sports? Do you have virtual and/or dual enrollment opportunities available to you? These can show that you are really putting in the effort. But don’t do these just to make your apps look good; do these if this is what you enjoy. For example, joining FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) would have major benefits, not only in exposing you to the business world, but showing that you enjoy business and wish to continue your learning outside of classes. Also remember that the Ivies judge you based upon what is offered at your school and what the other kids at your school do (basically your school’s profile). This can give you edge. It really separates you from the crowd, that is, the crowd you are used to. When they say “holistic admissions” they really mean it. There is no correct combination, but the Ivies are looking for people with a thirst for knowledge, curiosity, potential, and someone who will add to the diversity at their schools.

Lol admission/rejection won’t come down to one elective in lieu of another. Your senior year schedule seems pretty strong so don’t worry about that portion of your application.

I wish my schools offered even a quarter of those APs. You do not realize how lucky you are to have that many challenging courses available to you.
