Is my supplemental essay too short...?

So… one of my supplementals is at 277 words when the maximum is 500 words. I am actually reusing a previous essay, but my response completely answers this new prompt in a concise and sophisticated manner. I really don’t want to add much because I feel as though it will drag out the impact, but if it’s too short, I am willing to consider reshaping the body.

What I am trying to ask is… is 277 words too short for a word count maximum of 500?

by the way… this essay isn’t for NYU; I’m not sure how it ended up in the NYU threads

@krisp13 There’s no definite right answer to the length question, but, as you’re just over halfway, I’d advise adding another hundred words are so. Word counts can guide you to add more depth. You’re very wise to avoid adding more words just to pad things out and end up repeating yourself; that will lessen the impact of your point. Is there anything you can expand upon in your answer? Any detail that could benefit from further exploration?

… I am now up to 298 words. I am not sure how much more I can add with my voice being meaningful and direct.
