<p>I'm sure this varies by school, but in general, even if you live 1 - 2 towns away from the college/university, is it still possible to apply and live in on campus housing?</p>

<p>Sure, why wouldn’t it be? Of course, if you live nearby, commuting is probably a bit cheaper than dorms.</p>
<p>First year, almost definitely. Most colleges prefer you live on campus anyway.</p>

<p>I know quite a few people that live in the county my university is in but are still dorming beyond freshman year. If you can afford it I don’t see why not.</p>
<p>Yes. I live like 56 miles away from my school and I’m going to live on campus. Btw, its like 2-3 towns away.</p>
