It may just be me, but I feel like math is the subject that best shows how bright a student is. Correct me if I am wrong though. Do colleges care more about your math score than the other two subjects? Also, is the writing section the least important? (I have heard this from a few people)

math and cr i would say are equally important, with writing being less important, as some schools don’t even consider it. and be careful of basing how bright someone is on a single score.

It is almost universally true that colleges value CR score the most.

okay ironchariot, I do agree that there are multiple aspects to consider when gauging intelligence. and eeship, what is your opinion on the importance of the writing section?

I think that writing and CR are more important to top colleges since math is usually a stronger area of the students applying.

As far as I know, most schools typically value the CR and Math above the Writing.

Here’s a quote from harvard’s site “We have found that the best predictors at Harvard are Advanced Placement tests and International Baccalaureate Exams, closely followed by the College Board subject tests. High school grades are next in predictive power, followed by the SAT and ACT. The writing tests of the SAT and ACT have predictive power similar to the subject tests.”

At least according to this ^, in Harvard’s eyes, the writing section is “more important” than the CR and Math sections… Obviously just cause Harvard thinks this doesn’t mean all universities do; however, I do think that most colleges are starting to hold the Writing section to high regard, (especially since the collegeboard did do a study that showed that Writing scores best predict college grades.)

Haha I hope this is true cause my CR is my worst score :(
