Is online school considered homeschooling?

I mean, of course it can be thought of as homeschooling (attending school in your home).
However, some colleges require 3 SAT subject tests if you have been home schooled. I'm guessing it is because parents are usually the ones to grade the student in homeschooling. In online school, however, professional teachers evaluate your work. I'm wondering if the 3 SAT subject tests requirement applies to online schoolers as well.
Thank you

I would imagine it depends on the college - you could ask their admissions department.

Do you want to present yourself as a homeschooler, with the different ECs and classes, or a traditional student, with the traditional ECs? Are all your classes taken through this online school or just some of them? Does the online school provide the transcript that you will give to the college, or will you create a homeschool transcript instead of or in addition to that online school’s?

The definition of “homeschooling” is not school that is done while you are at home.

If your student is attending an accredited online school, with a full courseload, and receives grades from that school, then I doubt you are homeschooling. I know it depends on your state, but you might also be able to determine the answer based on what you provide to your state with regard to compulsory attendance laws.
