Is only taking 3 years of math bad?

At my school, I’m in the most rigorous math pathway, which is

Algebra 2 Honors -> PreCalculus Honors -> AP Calculus BC -> AP Statistics

I will be finishing AP Calculus BC in junior year, and my school doesn’t offer any other math classes besides AP Statistics. Will it hurt my chances if I don’t take AP Stats my fourth year? (I’m applying to nursing btw)

Thanks

I don’t think so at all. But you may find stats useful if you are going into nursing because it will help you understand the results sections of research studies. But Stats is not known as one of the more rigorous classes at all. It is the opposite-taken by many who opt out of calc. Had you opted out of Calc, that would have been a different story but you took it as a junior-excellent!

Also, you must have taken high school math in middle school so you will still have 4 years of high school math-middle school math counts if it is high school level. So algebra and geometry count.

Stats is useful for nursing. Or so I hear (my prospective major is history so I know very little about nursing lol). I’m taking AP Calc BC and AP Stats at the same time and I find Calc easier but I think I’m just weird. The vast majority of people find Stats way easier.

Thank you guys for your input!

I would definitely take Stat! Penn likes 4 years of math!! From admissions website:
“Therefore, we encourage Penn applicants to consistently take classes in the core academic disciplines (English, social studies, mathematics, science, and foreign language) throughout their four years of high school.”
