How good is Univ of Oklahoma for petroleum engineering? What is the average salary a petro Engg gets there? Is it good considering that top companies recruit from Texas Austin, A&M, Colorado etc?

Also after graduating, would getting a job be easy for an international student?

Top companies recruit at OU, too. They tend to be more active recruiting in oil producing areas like Oklahoma.

Salaries are fairly consistent for entry level positions regardless of where you went to school. Differences are more based upon what you did (research, internships, grades).

My concern was that in US the petroleum engineering field is saturated and I have the option of doing it from Australia where opportunities would be more. What say?

OU is a top 17 school for petroleum engineering.

It might be that good but I’m not much in favor of studying it in US lol

Job prospects and saturation of the industry is my main concern

@ucbalumnus There are only about 17 schools that offer Petroleum engineering…

Yes, that is why OU is a top 17 school in petroleum engineering.

According to [this source](http://www.bestpetroleumengineeringschools.com/) for petroleum engineering, OU is ranked 7th in United States
