Pre med and pre pharm are not “programs”. Pre med and pre pharm are a series of required classes that are the minimum requirements for anyone planing to seek admission to medical school or pharmacy school.

Pharmacy school pre reqs are not exactly the same as medical school pre reqs.

Pharmacy schools seem to have a greater diversity of requirements among different schools. Pharm pre reqs listed by school here:

http://www.aacp.org/resources/academicpolicies/admissionsguidelines/Documents/2011-12%20FINAL%20PharmacyPre-RequisiteInformation.pdf

Pharm schools are much more likely to require things like biochem, microbiology and psych than a med school.

Generally for both career tracks you’ll need introductory biology (2 semesters) w/lab, gen and organic chemistry (2 semesters each) w/lab, physics (2 semesters)w/lab, calc 1, and freshman composition.

Since pre med/pre pharm are not majors, but a series of courses, all colleges will offer them. However, not all colleges will have a health career advisor on staff. And the advising at some schools is better than at other schools.

thank you so much !
