i just finished watching a recent lecture (webcast of course).

so apparently at the end of class on friday he asked a question and asked the people in the class to answer it on a piece of paper and then they turned it in with their name and section number on it.

this was unannounced of course, and he didn't explicitly say so but the implication was those people would receive some sort of credit/extra credit.

is he bluffing? or has he done this in the past and actually given credit? either way i think this guy's a jackass. -_-

What a coincidence! I was just watching that webcast and I was wondering the exact same thing. I actually felt relieved that I was there because I would have been caught by surprise. haha. But yeah, he is probably feeling really angry that not a lot of people are attending class and did that as a way of “encouraging” people to come. That’s my take on it. Anyone experienced know the truth?

i really hate it when professors get angry about students not coming to class. it indicates to me that they probably have their heads up their asses.

No I hate iclickers…lol. Besides, I like watching it via webcast; I can pause to write stuff down if need be as opposed to chicken scratching frantically…Did you see him get ticked off by the kid who was talking even though class was pretty much over in like 4 seconds? haha. I mean, if he’s ****ed off, then imagine how Huelsenbeck feels. I went to a couple lectures and only a handful of people were there… =(
