Is retaking in January worth it?

I'm a senior and I took the SAT II's in November, but the scores aren't up to what I wanted. The schools that it would mater for are Princeton and Duke. Duke only needs two scores so I assume they will take my two better ones, which I can live with but Princeton worries me sense they look at all three and I need everything I can get to get in anyway. If I take the January test I can send the scores in before their score report deadline, but it is really worth it? Is it likely that the admission decision will already be made by then, since I applied a month ago, and taking the tests again will be a waste of time and effort?

I got:
690 Lit, 600 Math I, 500 Chem

I can do better in all of these especially Math and Chem(13th Percentile), I had not realized the chem test was as extensive as it was so I bombed it. That's the big reason I want to take it again. I expect at least a 300 point total improvement between the three tests. May take Math II instead of Math I.

Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks to anyone who may take the time to answer.

I strongly recommend that you retake them.

Subjects tests show schools how "ready" you are for their classes/cirriculum.

For example, just because you have an A in the class, that does not justify that you understand the material. I'm sure you've had classes where you get an A but don't understand CRAP.

Good subjects tests corroborate your class grades? ...

Okay, makes sense, I'll go for it. On the note of classes preparing for college, my schools chem classes weren't really up to that level. Though I probably should have been able to figure that out on my own. Thanks for the answer.
