Is SAIC generous with Financial aid?

So, I got accepted into SAIC for as a graphic design major.

They gave me a $54k scholarship, which is spread out $13k for first 3 years then $15k for the last year. The tuition is $42,230 yearly. The scholarship takes a nicely sized chunk out of the tuition, but the rest it's still completely out of my price range.

I'm pretty poor but I just want at least a rough estimate on how much I'll be paying yearly.

Go on their website and find their cost of attendence. It will factor in supplies, books, housing, meals, etc. It should give you a bottom line as to how much the total year estimate will be will be. Then deduct the yearly scholarship amount, and that should give you at least a ball park figure.

I received the Creative Honors Scholarship worth $68k. I am going to need more as well.
Does SAIC re appropriate scholarship $ that are left when accepted students decide to attend somewhere else? This may be my only hope.

I also got $68k but that’s not going to be nearly enough. I am very poor as well so hopefully we do OK when FAFSA gets done.

My D got the $54k scholarship. Probably not enough for us. That puts the tuition at merely outrageous instead of ridiculous in my opinion. Still more expensive than Tyler/Temple. I am surmising that basically nobody pays full freight at SAIC but $30+ per year for art school is still a lot.
