Is SDSU rolling admission?

Does it matter when I submit my app? if I submit late, do I lower my chances of getting in?

@nguyentammy282 No they are not rolling admission. SDSU says “Fall 2019 Freshman Admission. San Diego State University accepts freshman applications each year between October 1 and November 30 for admission the following fall.” You need to submit by November 30.

Even though the deadline to submit your application is November 30, do not wait until the last minute. Servers have been know to crash so make a goal of submitting by Thanksgiving.

@Gumbymom so applying earlier does not increase chances in any way, correct? Thank you so much!

No, applying early does not increase your chances. SDSU admits by major and EI and then accepts from the top down. In the past, high stat applicants have heard in December with an invite to apply to the Honors college but the majority of applicants will hear in February-March.

Gumbymom, SDSU is my daughter’s top choice, she is very anxious to hear from admissions. with an EI of 4820 would you think she will hear in December? she is out of state as well, FYI, if that matters as far as hearing in Dec

@orangeman89 She looks very competitive so if SDSU follows their same admission pattern, she should be hearing in December. Always nice to have an acceptance under her belt before Christmas.

That would be nice for sure thx!
