<p>I have a friend who claims that she got into UCLA "early" and was notified a few days ago by phone. Simply put, i have never heard of early decision for any of the UC schools and have never heard of an admissions decision so early!</p>

<p>Well, as it happens when I was at one point asked to even interview for the Regents Scholarship, I was told that I was in to the major of my choice. And, I'd applied under EECS,which is one of, if not the hardest major to get in under.</p>
<p>I ended up getting the scholarship only much later, and not everyone who interviewed got it. My memory is LA used an essay in my year in place of an interview.</p>
<p>Similar thing happened to me. A girl in my school got accepted to the nursing school apparently in October, and she didn't even have to do any essays or anything. And her GPA and SAT scores are low too. </p>
<p>Apparently she had an interview and that sealed the deal. I wonder if this is true too. It seems kind of far fetched though.</p>
<p>It is possible though she could have gotten accepted early. Well I have never heard from UCLA but I know a good friend who already got into Davis with 30k for 4 years.</p>

<p>I highly doubt it's Regent's Scholarship. Those letters of invitation come out in early February and I don't think there is an interview in the selection process. Plus, this is just the first stage of the Regent's ... so end of the month is the earliest of notification.</p>
<p>ELC guarantees a UC, but does not guarantee UCLA.</p>
