I dont buy it but allegedly one of my mom's colleague's daughter got into all the UC's besides LA and Berk. She got into Davis through ELC-but thats it
How the hell is this happening?
I thought all the UCs were releasing decisions late march early april
and she is not that stellar of a candidate-
from what ive heard (and apparently her gpa grows by the second) she has at most a 4.2 but prob a 4.02-weak EC's and like a 1950 on the SAT
Someone help clear this matter up

To be honest, those stats are already enough to get her in LOL
If you have higher stats than that, then congratulations, you’ll probably get your letter of admission in March.

yea she’ll get in in March not today. thats what im saying

Well, I’ve heard they usually send letters for scholars day around this time which suggest you’ve been accepted because top applicants are chosen as recipients for the scholars day invitation…although if they had sent out letters/emails for scholars day, I’m sure someone on this forum would have created a new thread so I don’t know what to tell you other than: either she got an invitation for scholars day or she’s lying.

an honestly she is not that stellar compared to most of the people that applied to ucsd-but according to her she got an acceptance email-so that pretty much suggests she’s lying

She could be mistaking some other letter for an acceptance? Or maybe is good enough for ELC at her school, since that’s what that’s based on…

No, UCSD accepts a few ELC students early. One of my friends got accepted there along with Irvine and Davis early because he was ELC.

They do accept some people super early, especially if they ELC.

One of my really really good friends got in a few weeks ago as a regent scholar for BioE. He’s still waiting to hear from some of the Ivy’s though (I’m trying to get him here with the whole, we have the best BioE program in the nation.)

I’m surprised UCSD is one of the 4 ELC schools this year! Hmm…cool. I do remember getting all the ELC acceptances a bit early, so I guess congrats to someone?

UCSD is not elc

I’m confused. I guess its a farce? Just don’t worry about them.

She could have received an invitation for some scholarship program (like the med one) and just thought that meant her acceptance. As far as I know, they haven’t really sent out acceptances yet (I have a suitemate that works in admissions).

There are more than 4 ELC schools. I was accepted into Davis, Merced, Irvine, Riverside, and Santa Barbara purely off of ELC.
