I applied as an Business/Management undergrad major. Is that easier to get into than engineering or science?

i applied for pure science

You don't actually declare a major until after your freshman year. I don't think what you put on your application makes any difference at all.

At MIT, they don't take the specified academic area of interest into account for admissions.

there's no "easy way" to get into MIT anyway.

probably.

we'll find out in a few days I guess, I applied as well to humanities (poliscience) but I don't know why

Again, you don't "apply to" a given department -- it really makes no difference what you put down :)

Yeah, it's in Part 1 and they say it's only "for statistical purposes".
Though they do ask about "what department or program at MIT interests you most".

!! Come on people! This late into the game you should know that you don't apply "under" any program. If it was easier to get into MIT through HASS then they'd be flooded with applicants whose intended major was history and then once admitted declared a major in engineering...

well.. i never intend to actually change majors. I like poli sci / econ and thats what I intend to major in...

And I like my comp sci and dunno if I'll changeit:P
